The Japanese team arrived at the stadium three hours before the game and went through an extensive as well as impressive warm-up routine. Japan had no problem getting past Korea to be the second Finalist after the United States had defeated Chinese Taipei earlier that day.

Compared to the Americans, who were able to shoot doubles into the alleys and score quick runs, the Japanese relied much more on speed and short game.
